Google Maps for Human Biology
Biostate AI is building “Google Maps for human biology.”
Instead of mapping streets, this company maps what’s happening inside your body — using AI and genetic data to spot disease earlier and guide better treatments. The goal is to help doctors move beyond one-size-fits-all care and make decisions tailored to each patient.
Biostate runs advanced DNA and RNA sequencing (in other words, reading what your genes are doing in real-time) and feeds this data into AI models. These models predict the risk of disease, forecast how a disease will progress, and suggest optimal treatments.
The company has partnerships with Harvard Medical School, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Cornell Weill Medical School. Its funding round last year was led by Accel (an early investor in Facebook and Slack), while other early investors include the CEO of Anthropic and California Institute of Technology.
Stage-agnostic venture capital firm. Investor in Trulia, Facebook, Dropbox, Kayak, Braintree, RenRen, ComScore, SquareSpace, Groupon & Etsy.
